Co-Saved Project

two main actions

Increase enrolment and improve quality of learning for primary school children in CO-SAVED target schools

Implement water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) enhancements in CO-SAVED target schools

One of the greatest opportunity costs for children is the need to stay at home and help their parents generate income. By increasing access to productive and decent work, the project aims to assist these parents, thereby enhancing their ability to send their children to school. To retain these children in the education system, the project will focus on improving the quality of both formal and non-formal education.

Safe water and sanitation are key prerequisites for child-friendly schools. BSDA works  with local authorities (LAs), local communities (LCs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) to develop effective, and efficient responses to WASH needs in schools. These WASH activities include building latrines, installing handwashing points, and implementing behavior change activities.
